I think her story is well written with her characters coming alive on every page. They are well developed, full of passion, loyalty and overwhelming feelings of love.Walker Island is home to Hanna Walker. This was a sweet romantic love story full of mystery trying to uncover truth. I loved Hanna and Joel's story. The author did a great job of keeping the story real and leading us on a wonderful journey of discovery. Discovery of the truth of what actually happened decades ago and kept a wedge between two families. Also the discovery of love between two people that were not even supposed to be together as a result of the dispute between the families. The characters are all charming and so easy to get to know. Overall a wonderful enjoyable read. Highly recommend.
Lately I have been on a New Adult and contemporary romance kick and after I made some recent purchases, the author Bella Andre popped up as a recommendation. I had never read her books and started looking more closely at them to see if I would like them. The Walker Island series also came up since they are written under Bella Andre's pen name Lucy Kevin. I decided to read Be My Love to see how I liked it and I have to say, I LOVED it! This book was an extremely fast read for me and it was easy to get swept away in the sweet romance of Hanna and Joel. I liked the added twist that they are from rival families and aren't supposed to like each other; however, Hanna needs Joel's help with her documentary and the two of them discover a lot more than they originally thought. I thought this was a really sweet romance story set in the Pacific Northwest and it was easy to picture the setting of Walker Island based on the descriptions in the book. If you prefer to read contemporary romance books without the sensual scenes, this would be a great book to read! I am already looking forward to reading the other books in this series as well as Bella Andre's books. I highly recommend this book and am glad I took the time to read this one!
Hanna Walker returns to Walker Island determined to film the documentary that will get her accepted into the program she wants to enroll in. Unfortunately there is one major thing that stands in the way and that is Joel who doesn't want her to make the documentary about what really happened to Poppy. He's afraid that she wants to use the documentary to absolve her grandparents for what happened when they married and presumably broke Poppy's heart. But what if there is more to the story and what if Joel and Hanna fall in love along the way. Can Hanna possibly make things better for her grandma even if the town calmed down about the controversy quite awhile ago? Or is she going to stir up a hornet's nest that would be better left alone. This contemporary romance novel is perfect for those readers who like Bella Andre's writing style but find her books to be a little too racy. As this sweet romance leaves things to your imagination. The end of the book even leaves a good idea of which Walker sister the next book will be about.
